Riot by Negro Soldiers in El Paso Leaves Officers Dead
At 5 o'clock this morning a mob of soldiers from Fort Bliss attacked the city police station aiming to free two comrades jailed yesterday for drunkenness. Police Officer Stewart and one soldier were killed. another soldier is believed wounded. Company K of the Twenty-fifth Infantry stationed at Port Bliss. The post commander has pledged support to civil authorities as police gear for possible emergencies.
