Twin Bridges smelter to buy local lead ores this week
Sheridan Chinook reports The Twin Bridges smelter will start up this week and purchase all lead ores offered. Teal says dry ores won’t be treated at old rates but will incur 20 cents per silica unit over iron, making very silicious ore costly for shippers. The plant has deals with Stillman Mining at Castle for 30 tons daily and with Grouse mine operators nearby for large low grade ore.
