A Pioneer Gone D B Berk Dies in Anaconda
D B Berk longtime Anaconda resident and pioneer died at his home on East Commercial Avenue after a yearlong illness. Born in Pennsylvania in 1821 he moved to Illinois in 1843 and took up a homestead near the community. Berk was known for quiet charitable acts and often aided those in need through intermediaries. His death marks the loss of a well regarded local figure with a history of public-spirited help.
