Omaha reports Edward A. Cudahy paid 25000 in gold to kidnappers for his son Edward Cudahy Jr. The boy was abducted last Tuesday, held about a day, and returned to his father after the ransom was placed. Police efforts continue as investigators pursue the gang.

Fenn Elected Bussey Professor of Theology at Harvard

The Rev Dr William Wallace Fenn of the Church of the Messiah Chicago has been chosen Bussey professor of theology at Harvard to succeed the late Dr Charles Carell Everett. Everett was dean of the divinity school. Fenn will not hold that post, which is expected to go to Dr Francis G Peabody. Fenn, born in Boston, graduated from Harvard in 1884 and from the divinity school in 1887, and moved to Chicago in 1891.
