Butte High School eleven defeated Tollon of Fort Shaw 19 to 0 at Ath fete park on a Saturday afternoon. The Indians showed limited experience while the Butte lineup, many from local teams, displayed swift, coordinated play and strong offense. Fort Shaw manager Perry L. Sargent praised the hospitality and planned future games. Also noted is the death of Joseph Sullivan, 36, found in the county jail witness department, with an inquest to follow.

Maggie Woodry, later Maggie Hunt, obtained a divorce from George Woodry after alleging marriage in 1891 at North Platte Nebraska and desertion after seven years. She accused him of gambling and drinking, dodging creditors, and leaving for parts unknown with no support or railroad ticket. Lenora Brouse was granted a divorce from A W Brouse on grounds of desertion after seven years of marriage.
Last Saturday evening Rev. G H Whiteman was surprised when seven or eight church members led by Mr. Anderson entered bearing a handsome arm chair as a Christmas gift. The pastor expressed sincere thanks for the thoughtful gesture and warm wishes. Earlier, two ladies in the congregation sent two upholstered chairs for the pastor and his wife.

At a December meeting of the Tutte tionary Engineers union, unanimous resolutions mourn the death of Marcus Daly a prominent mining operator and benefactor to Montana and Butte expressing grief for his loss and noting his fair treatment of workers. The signal tribute extends sympathy to his widow and children and calls for publication of the resolutions in the minutes daily papers and a copy engrossed for the family.
