A new lot of leather goods shown this week features Genuine Seal Chatelaine full leather belts with nickel frames and three pockets priced around 2.50. Genuine Alligator and suede lining items with German silver frames priced up to 2.50. Patent leather pocketbooks with suede lining and nickel frames offered at 1.00. Cowhide and Morocco pocketbooks priced per piece. Seal grain, Morocco and Alligator varieties range from 60c to 6.00 each.
In Gilman a mob attacked the home of Mrs. Dr. C W Wright after a coroner’s inquiry into Dessie Baker’s death. Two killed, several wounded, and the house burned as the mob demanded arrest. Mrs Wright, about fifty, was wounded and later held at city hall amid threats of lynching.
