Soldiers Home Needs Hospital Accommodations for Veterans
Governor Smith received a $539 federal check for the Columbia Falls Montana soldiers' home. The Montana facility, housing about 49 inmates, needs a hospital as funding is insufficient for improvements. The home is praised as well located and well run, though the residents are aging and often ill, with four deaths since July 4.
