No Evidence of Guilt in Butte Grand Larceny Hearing

John Yates William Brown and Fred Smith faced a preliminary hearing in Justice Nicholls court for grand larceny over an $800 theft from Jacob Zachman. Brown was discharged after state witnesses offered no link to the alleged robbery. Zachman testified he drank drugged beer during a night out, awoke on a railroad track, and found his $800 gone. Archambault saloon, multiple gambling evenings, and a driver named Yates were named in the tale.
