Pony Mines Strike Raises Prospect at Long and Syddenham
Dick Syddenham reports a substantial ore find on the Pony mine under a two-year lease from Norris and Elling. Assays run from 60 to 261 dollars in gold, with ten sacks hauled out last Sunday. The strike lies about thirty feet from Frank Long's end line, cutting through his claim as he advances a separate ore lead. Long expects to open a new road on his ground and extract 4000 to 5000 dollars in about three months after stoping current work. An option on Long's property for 5000 dollars was offered a month ago but not taken. Syddenham left for Butte after taking a car and tracking equipment.
