Wage Increases Approved in Golden Gate Bridge Budget
The Golden Gate Bridge district board approved a 928,904 dollar budget for the coming year, funding wage hikes for 110 employees with an average raise of about 25 dollars per month totaling around 43,000 dollars. Murphy and Colman challenged the Redwood Empire association and advertising allocations, proposing reductions to 15,000 dollars, but the motion failed. Maurice Maskovitz supported the full appropriation while Peter Gasser argued that advertising costs have risen and the bridge benefits from the association’s work.
