Santa Venetia Child 6 Hits by Truck Dies
A six year old Santa Venetia boy, Bart Halterman, was killed yesterday afternoon when riding a borrowed bicycle and struck by a semi truck on Vendola Drive. The driver, Manuel Souza, said he was lost and unaware of the boy. no citation issued. Funeral arrangements are pending at Keaton's Mortuary, San Rafael.

A 1,389 ton lumber schooner named Lumber Lady went aground 60 miles west of the Golden Gate in Stulwater Cove Sonoma county. The vessel freed itself about five hours later and sailed into San Francisco Bay under her own power. It was en route to Ramer Washington for lumber.
