Marin City Man Killed in Head-On Crash Near Petaluma
Elbert Earl Scroggin a 26 year old Marin City resident was killed in a head on auto truck crash on Highway 101 two miles south of Petaluma at 2 30 a m. The other driver Lew Levinson 17 of Petaluma and a passenger Arlene Schnee 16 sustained injuries. The coroner said Scroggin’s car was on the wrong side with lights off. A Lake County relative was notified.

Mello to Answer Charges Tuesday Before County Board
Fire Chief Camille Mello will respond to the county auditor’s report on irregularities in the county fire department at a county board of supervisors meeting Tuesday at 10 a.m. He confirmed in a letter to the Independent Journal and said he would file his reply next Tuesday morning January 2, 1951.

County Bar Offers Aid to Indigents in Lower Courts

Guide Dogs Director Injured In San Rafael Crash
William Johns, 39, director of the Guide Dogs for the Blind training school in San Rafael, suffered a broken shoulder and other injuries when his station wagon collided with a second car on Highway 101. Floyd Clarence Rice of San Francisco entered from Francisco Boulevard through a no entry sign. Rice was cited, and Johns’ vehicle was a total loss after the roll. The crash occurred at 11:50 p.m.

Inmates Give Blood For GIs in Korea
