Private Glen R. Cramer 19, son of Mrs. Earl Foster of Marin City, was killed in action November 28 in Korea. He was the third Marin youth officially listed as killed in Korea, with two others previously reported. His mother received notification two days before Christmas.

George Whiteley of San Rafael will join the Marin County Board of Supervisors on January 8, taking the seat long held by the late William Barr and later filled by Walter Castro. Pfc Art Wedemeyer Jr son of the Larkspur mayor is hospitalized in Oakland with wounds to both legs from Changjin below the Chosin Reservoir on December 1. He served with the first Marine division evacuated from the sector. Raoul Alan Vincilione 19 also in Korea is en route to Oak Knoll Hospital after pneumonia and frost bite. He was with the first Marine division driven from the Chosin reservoir early December and last spoke to his parents from Honolulu. Ramona Vincilione a 21 year old sister is a lieutenant in the Women’s Army Corps in Virginia.

Fred Johansen and Gus Obitz of San Rafael duck-hunters, were in Santa Venetia slough when their boat overturned. Johansen retrieved two birds and his gun, Obitz lost one duck and the outboard motor was saved. Marin Rod and Gun club members call it great sport.

The Coast Guard rescued fisherman Wendell Frickberg of 10 Reed Lane Sausalito after his 28 foot boat Cathy B struck an obstruction near Peninsula Point off Angel Island. The Cathy B was towed to repair docks in Sausalito and Frickberg was uninjured.

Lost Truck Found After Beer Champagne Theft
Thieves stole a truckload of beer and champagne from Trombetta distributors in San Rafael. The truck was found in downtown Petaluma with most beer intact but eleven cases of champagne missing. Police traced the vehicle across Marin and Sonoma counties but offered no clues to the culprits.

Sausalito police recovered two three foot high antique white vases stolen from Mrs. Anna Duffy of 215 Bridgeway Sausalito. Chief James Doyle said three Tamaipais high school students aged 15 16 and 17 admitted the theft. Two youths are from San Anselmo and one from Sausalito. They will appear before Probation Officer Edmund Blum next week.
