Marin county stood out as a bright spot in a dismal holiday accident picture for the Christmas weekend. California Highway Patrol reports 16 accidents over Saturday Sunday and Monday with only four persons injured.
At Travis Air Force Base California Colonel A H Corliss said Pfc Robert L Smith 20 of Middleburg Pennsylvania arrived as a quadruple amputee from Korea. Smith telephoned his mother Christmas Eve and will be flown to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC for rehabilitation. The Defense Department notified Mrs Clara Smith that her son was slightly wounded in action in Korea.
San Francisco directors plan to discuss a bill to have the state assume duties of the Golden Gate Bridge and Highway District. W H Hadeler will ask the legislative committee to consider introducing legislation next session. Assemblyman McCollister, invited to the meeting, has proposed bills to state takeover and 40 million in bonds.

Sausalito firemen responded to an early morning call to extinguish a car fire at 890 Bridgeway Boulevard. The blaze started from new brake lining in a car owned by Rupert Dietrich of Virginia City Nevada.
