At Travis Air Force Base California Colonel A H Corliss said Pfc Robert L Smith 20 of Middleburg Pennsylvania arrived as a quadruple amputee from Korea. Smith telephoned his mother Christmas Eve and will be flown to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington DC for rehabilitation. The Defense Department notified Mrs Clara Smith that her son was slightly wounded in action in Korea.

Police Seek Clues in Sgt Reed Slaying in Larkspur

Larkspur police and county authorities continue the investigation into the Friday night murder of Sgt Allen Lee Reed at Hamilton Field. A blood smeared stolen 1950 blue Chevrolet DeLuxe coupe was found on San Quentin road near San Rafael, possibly used by the killer. Police seek reports of the car license 3888998 or sightings of the vehicle at motels or gas stations and ask cleaning establishments to report suspicious blood stained clothing.
