Marin Leathernecks Come Home From Korea
Marine Spt. Raymond Raiser of Mill Valley arrived aboard the USNS John Pope in San Francisco after serving in Korea. He was wounded in the Far East and described his arrival as terrifying yet joyous. Raiser, greeted by his father Maurice and brother Clark, is among eight Marin men returning for Christmas. Others include Cpl. Gerard Crocke San Rafael and Cpl. James Malloch San Anselmo. After processing they are due home for the holidays.
