Corte Madera Site Chosen For Marin Fairgrounds Plan
Marin County supervisors select a 540 acre mudflat area opposite Corte Madera Larkspur turnoff for a tentative fairgrounds site. A team including T Fred Bagshaw James V Kehoe and William Fusselman met state official A E Snider to review plans and cost. The site could supply under 100 acres for the initial fair with future expansion possible. Funds of 60 000 plus a matching state amount are available for purchase and filling. Snider warned most fairs lose money but county fairs can succeed with year round use and possible horse stabling.

Pagani Among Six Indicted by Marin Grand Jury
Robert F. Pagani 30, county fire warden at San Anselmo, is named in a six person indictment by the Marin county grand jury. He faces conspiracy to commit arson and allegedly participated in 27 grass fires county wide from August to November. Pagani is free on bail with a bench warrant raising it to 3,000 dollars.

Knopf to Retire From P. G. R. After 39 Years
Herbert Knopf longtime North Bay division electric superintendent for P G E will retire December 31 after 39 years with the company. A Friday night banquet at the San Rafael Masonic temple will honor him. Knopf a San Francisco native and 1907 UC electrical engineering graduate joined P G E in 1911 and rose to North Bay division chief in 1922. He and his wife reside at 527 Belle Avenue, San Rafael. Their son Gedge William is a dentist and daughter Ino Zarela is married to E F Monti.

Woman Injured Falling From Taxi In San Rafael
Josephine Paula of 1222 Fourth Street San Rafael suffered a head injury when she fell from a taxi at Linden Lane and Grand Avenue at 2 30 a m. Police say driver John Wagstaf Burnham reported a soldier opened the door. she denied it. A Pfc Louie Lane Null from Hamilton Field was in another cab. Ferry Strike Ends With Tentative Settlement Vote
