Capt. Charles F. White of San Rafael is named chairman of Marin County Red Cross annual fund drive for 1950 by Mrs. John C. Kittle. About 170 guests attended the Marin County Junior Chamber of Commerce annual gridiron dinner at Legion Hall last night. The show Life in Marin spoofed Angel Island and local officials in a three act skit, with a play within a play framing device. Proceeds support the group's treasury for Christmas party blood bank work youth welfare and other projects. Cast included Bob Hall Bertha Sims Jack Hirsch Gloria Stevens Pete Peterson and others.

Five Others Hurt In Four County Auto Wrecks
A San Francisco youth 18 driving a 1934 Ford struck a parked truck on Forest Knolls road. Daniel David Harris 19 of San Francisco, star football tackle at Sacred Heart High, was seriously injured and unconscious at Ross General Hospital. Harris and Jack E. Colen were returning to Colen's home when the car hit the Anton Cordi truck, demolishing the Ford and pushing the truck into a ditch. Colen said Harris may have been driving about 25 mph. Deputies investigated. Harris remained semi conscious with skull injuries delaying X rays. In a separate incident on Highway 101 near Santa Rosa a motorcycle crash injures 20 year old Hamilton Field airmen and their passenger Eileen Miller of Santa Rosa. The injured were treated at Sonoma County Hospital then Hamilton Field. The report notes continued coverage on page five.

Fairfax City Boosts Wages for Nine City Workers
Fairfax City Council approved a 5 percent pay raise for nine non elected city employees including three from each of the street police and fire departments. The action followed a Monday meeting with the employees and the formation of the Municipal Employees of the City of Fairfax. City Attorney Wallace Myers received a $35 raise amid calls for more uniform pay across departments.

Ross Man Wins 9 Awards In National Bird Competitions
William MacAuley of Shady Lane Ross won nine awards from ten birds at the Combined National Bird Show in Cincinnati Ohio last month. His orange canaries earned three first prizes a special, four seconds and a third while a best pair of parakeets trophy added to his haul. He competes as a hobbyist and has previously collected six ribbons at a Santa Cruz bird show. He notes Marin county hosts at least 200 parakeet enthusiasts.
