Staying Safe In Bad Weather At Sea
Guidance for mariners advises staying in port during storms, or heading to the nearest shelter if caught at sea. In rough water passengers should sit low near the center, reduce speed, and use a sea anchor if propulsion fails. Stay calm, as panic spreads and a well-found small boat can endure with proper handling.
