A postmaster appointment for Modesto is expected today with Captain D W Morris named as front runner and George C Parking set to announce. The retiring George F Wood has served long and will depart with praise from patrons.
A correction notes that the announced sale of property in the Modesto district for irrigation taxes was not accurate. The injunctions will be dissolved as stated, but the sale of the property cannot occur except under back-taxes payment, with all property on which back taxes are paid to be sold at March.
Report from the Graynon area describes a mishap at the Oro oil well where the drill end detached from the trimmer about two weeks ago. The bore is down roughly 925 feet with ongoing efforts to free the drill and resume boring.
Announcement confirms the marriage of Lorsel Nickas Ullom and Mrs Julia Goodwin in Reno Nevada on December 6. Mrs Goodwin is divorced within a year, and the couple left for Stockton after a brief stopover while friends extend best wishes.
J D Henderson was sentenced to one year at the State prison of Ban Quen tin by Judge Minor for burglary in the first degree after pleading guilty yesterday. Regan was discharged for insufficiency of evidence. Local notices advertise a county lodge event and a May dance.
