New General Registration Rules for California Elections
The new registration act sets a 160 day lead before the midterm, granting qualified electors 75 days to register. The general election is November 3, with registration from May 27 to August 9. Transfers allowed for movers within 30 days prior. Old registers canceled. Alameda County clerks to oversee local work, cost concerns may push statewide adoption.
