Salesman Hurt When Car Turns Over Near Here

Stone Found Guilty In Police Court Over Sidewalk Obstruction

Drunken Driver Crashes Through Railing on West Main
A drunken motorist, identity unknown, plowed through a wooden guard railing and three red lanterns over a deep sewer ditch on West Main Street. The car became stuck in the ditch briefly before crossing to the opposite side. Police Officers Popp and Bock repaired the railing and signal lights and searched for the driver late at night.

DRY AGENTS STAGE TWO MORE RAIDS HERE
Federal agents conducted two more dry raids in Jefferson City seeking liquor. At Frances Collins home 603 Dunklin Street they found none but charged a black woman with selling a half pint of whiskey to a government employee. Jack King’s Jefferson Street residence also produced no liquor. Vic Morris and Paul Mayberry, arrested Wednesday near the Morris home on Lafayette Street, were released on bonds of 1000 dollars. Seven pints of whiskey were seized in the Morris raid. County homes of Clarence Huhman and Clem Wilders were raided without results.

Girl Drowns Saving Family In Dredge Ditch
Po Bluff Missouri May 26. Miss Leona Grimes 18 of Dudley drowned in an eighteen foot dredge ditch while trying to save her mother and brother from drowning. The brother was bathing and the mother leaped in to help him. Leona aided the mother but cramped and disappeared beneath the water. Resuscitation attempts failed.
