Couple Hurt In Accident Near Algoa

Diamond rings sold for a dollar suspect arrested in city
Robert Johnson, a negro about years old from St Louis, was arrested on suspicion of running a jewelry scheme. He sold small diamond rings at one dollar and had two rings found on him when searched at the police station. Johnson says he bought the diamonds in Kansas City and planned to return home. He was jailed overnight for questioning and his past in St Louis and Kansas City will be investigated.

Mrs. Emma Lister, 43, born Emma Schmidt, died in Fulton after living in Jefferson City. Funeral arrangements were not finalized late last night and services are expected Monday or Tuesday. She is survived by her husband, father John Schmidt, sister Mrs. Frank Long, and brothers Vernon Schmidt, Elmer W. Schmidt of St. Joseph, and Julius Schmidt of Toledo Ohio. Her body was brought to Jefferson City and taken to the home of Frank E. Long on West Main Street.
