The Jefferson City Public Schools board voted a 50 percent tuition increase for non residents for the 1927-28 term with rates rising to $27 for elementary, $54 for high school, and $108 for junior college. Power Company Seeks Permission to Remove River Tracks

Joseph Cheffey 74, brother of Mrs. Charles W. Clay of this city and a former resident, died Monday at his Springfield home after a lingering illness. Born in Callaway County, he moved to this city in childhood and lived here until manhood, visiting about three years ago. He is survived by his wife and ten children. Friends here regret his passing.

Loesch Hurt When Team Runs Away Near Fishtrap Bridge
Elmer Loesch, a county resident, suffered a broken left arm and severe bruises after a team of frightened mules he was driving dragged him several yards near the Fishtrap bridge. Local Youth Prevented From Ending Life in Mexico
In Mexico Missouri on May 10 police stopped 17 year old Paul Reno of Jefferson City from shooting himself amid protests that there is nothing to live for.
