A Sedalia jury returned a 6000 verdict for Raymond Morris in a 17500 damage suit against the F W Woolworth Company store of Sedalia. Morris claimed false accusation, arrest and slander. Attorneys for Woolworth were Don S Lamm and Clarence D Case of Sedalia. A new trial motion is expected.

Cedar City Boys Held in Gas Station Robbery
Charles Alberts and L Ponders, Cedar City youths, arrested at Linn on burglary charges for the filling station at the forks of the concrete across the Missouri River in Callaway County. Alberts allegedly confessed to two prior lootings and they face trial in Callaway. They are also suspected in the Roedel Meat Market robbery. Ponders is on parole from a prior prison potato theft conviction.

Baker signs eight bills expanding state offices and aid
Governor Baker signed eight bills including a measure to extend the state supreme court commission from four to six members with an emergency clause. Two new commissioners will be named by the supreme court and will earn 7500 dollars annually. Definite funeral arrangements for Joe Nacy of South Broadway had not been made last night. Services will likely be Monday morning at St. Peter's Church with burial in Catholic Cemetery. The 10 year old student at St. Peter's School became ill last Monday and died yesterday after surgery at St. Mary's Hospital. He is survived by his parents and four sisters. Rev. R. M. Talbert of Cape Girardeau visited the city yesterday.
