Maj Allan J Showers 81 post master for the Missouri house of representatives died early Monday of acute indigestion and ptomaine poisoning in University City suburb of St. Louis. He served three terms and had just been elected again two weeks earlier. A Civil War veteran, he came from a family of fighters with ancestors in the Mexican war and War of 1812. The body was to be taken to University City for burial. Funeral arrangements not yet made.
