Aldridge to Lead Cole County Cancer Campaign
Dr. M. R. Aldridge of Jefferson City is named chairman for Cole County in the state wide drive against cancer to run January 17 to 26 under the Missouri Committee of the American Society for the Control of Cancer. The aim is early treatment and a curable outlook. slogan You should know that early cancer is curable. Census figures noted one in eight deaths after age forty from cancer and 95 percent of such deaths occur after age thirty five. The committee argues most deaths are preventable with early treatment.

Tragedy Near New Haven Involving List-Gifford Train Crash
A head on collision between a List-Gifford construction locomotive and a Missouri Pacific construction train near New Haven Missouri killed Robert O'Brien of St. Louis a foreman for the List-Gifford company and seriously injured three Missouri Pacific workers along with one laborer who had been aboard the construction train. Dallas to Fight Liquor Charge
