John Barrett Dies From Auto Injuries
John Barrett 55, East End shoe factory employee, died at St Marys hospital from injuries after being struck by a car driven by W N Howard in the 700 block East Capitol avenue on Christmas Eve. He had pneumonia since Wednesday and his death marks Jefferson Citys fifth traffic fatality in 1938. Barrett lived in Jefferson City about 35 years, born June 21, 1883 in Aud in Osage county. He was a member of Immaculate Conception church. Survived by two daughters Esther Ortega Kansas City and Mary Gerbes Highway 50 east of Jefferson City, and three brothers Hugh Charles and William Barrett.
