Federal aid for state highways tops two million

Missouri will receive 2,417,727 from a 75 million federal highway aid vote by Congress. The state’s total federal road assistance since 1917 reaches 22,255,000, with 803.5 miles completed at 11,352,027.70. In the year to date, 134.5 miles were finished costing 2,446,556.80, federal share 1,214,678.84.

Oakland Motor Co Names B H Anibal Chief Engineer

A. R. B. Glaney, president and general manager of the Oakland Motor Car Company, announces the appointment of B. H. Anibal as chief engineer, succeeding Benjamin Jerome who resigned. Anibal brings 12 years with General Motors units including Olds and Cadillac, contributing to the Cadillac eight cylinder and the 1912 four cylinder with electric starting. He resigned from Cadillac in 1921.

River Rouge Plant Will Build All Ford Engines

Ford Motor Company expands production by opening a new River Rouge facility adjoining the machine shop and foundry. The one story 525000 square foot building houses four 298 foot conveyor lines aiming to produce 9000 motors daily in two eight hour shifts. Transfer from Highland Park speeds assembly downstream through the plant.

Anibal to Lead Oakland Six Refinement at Peerless

Mr Anibal, once chief engineer at Peerless Motor Car Company, later consulting for Studebaker, and who served Cadillac engineering during wartime with the Liberty motor project in Washington, is praised for his exceptional engineering record. He also aided GM Aircraft Division and is expected to refine the Oak land Six to higher mechanical efficiency.
