Fulton Missouri June 29 announcement reports the marriage of William N Kennett son of Mr and Mrs W D Kennett of Fulton to Miss Hilda Engstrom of Chicago. He suffered a heart attack Friday and was rushed to the hospital from his home here. He is under the care of Dr Leo J Madsen and Dr F G Gruber. Former Resident Reported Dead In Jap Prison Camp
Mrs. Russell Maloney of 1016 Fairmount learned by telephone that Pvt. Richard Humbarger of the United States Marine Corps died in a Japanese prison camp while a prisoner of war. Humbarger, 21, was a Kansas City native who attended the local high school and lived with the Maloney family briefly. He was listed missing in action over a year ago until the notice of his death. cause and burial details were not disclosed. He enlisted years ago, trained for about a year, and served at Cavite near Corregidor before likely capture when Corregidor fell.
