11 Year Old Youth Dies Yesterday Funeral Plans
B W Griffiths Jr eleven year old of Mrs Hild Griffiths died early yesterday at home in the grand avenue area. He was born in St Louis and had lived in Los Angeles for over a year. He had suffered from spinal illness for about a month and fell gravely ill last Thursday. He attended Faire school and was well liked by friends. Wakefield case dismissed after witness request
The case of J. F. Wakefield charged with reckless driving was dismissed in the local police court yesterday morning upon request of the complaining witness Vernon. It is understood a statement was reached out of court. Harlan was injured last Sunday when Wakefield ran his automobile into a post against which he was leaning at Ducklin and Lafayette streets. The case of Theodore Kolkmeyer charged with being drunk resulted in a $100 fine. The penalty was unusual ly heavy because Kolkmeyer recently promised Judge Tucker to stop drinking for a year.

Cole county dairymen attended the annual meeting and picnic at Columbia. Attendees from Cole included C. J. Pollock, Christ Wagner, Henry Schneider, Ben Bruning, Oscar Mueller, Emil Stegeman, J. C. Schatz captured at Hartsburg ends manhunt
Bill Schatz, an ex-convict charged with burglaries, was captured at 12 15 am at Hartsburg Missouri by Sheriff L C Withaup and deputies. He was brought to the county jail at 1 30 am. The arrest followed a tip that Schatz hid at his father’s home in Sartsburg. The home was surrounded to prevent escape. Schatz surrendered with slight resistance after noticing the net. He faces pending charges in Judge John G Leslie's court. The Jefferson City Lions Club picnic at Hough Park is set for noon with games contests and refreshments. Members and spouses expected, transportation arranged by Dr Huestle if needed.
