Body of Drowned Youth Found in Flooded Lake
The body of Charles Carr Jr. of St. Joseph was recovered from Bean Lake in Atchison after his sailboat capsized last Monday. Carr directed the Sea Scout base at the lake. Miss Doris Ducher of Kansas City was rescued after about 40 minutes in the water.

Army Testing B-50 As Newest Bomber
SEATTLE June 26 AP The B-50 Boeing Aircraft companys newest military plane and successor to the B-29 completed a successful hour 38 minute test flight. Pilot A Elliott Merrill reported at 5000 feet cruising 220 mph. It will be delivered to the Army in about four weeks for acceptance flights. The B 50 resembles the B 29 but has a higher tail and a cruising speed of 300 mph, 60 faster than the B 29, with a top speed near 400 mph and four 3500 hp engines. Its flying range is not yet announced but exceeds that of the B 29.
