Tragic Auto-Discharged Gun Fatality Near Ashland
An 18 year old farmer living near Ashland fatally wounded himself when a shotgun discharged after he struck the gun against a wheel in a farmyard. He had moved to the area last April after previously traveling with an orchestra. The Boone County coroner ruled no inquest was necessary and said the accident occurred after an argument over a dog. Funeral arrangements were to be announced tonight.

Mrs. Sarah E. Irwin aged 82 was fatally struck when she stepped into the path of an oncoming car 15 miles west of Lebanon Mo while seeking help to repair a tire. The driver B M Morgan of Louisville was not held as witnesses deemed the accident unavoidable. No inquest will be held, coroner Dr J Summers said. Mrs. Irwin rode with her daughter R A Todd from Lebanon to Buffalo Missouri where they formerly lived. Todd left the car to seek help. Irwin walked around the rear of the car and stepped in front of the moving vehicle.
