Judy Schott, Jefferson City businessman, reported his motor boat’s $250 engine lost after striking a floating log about one mile below the lock and dam on the Osage river. The engine sank in several feet of water. search efforts by Schott and workers were unsuccessful yesterday and to resume today.

Former Capital City Resident Dies in Denver
Howard Johnson, 82, a former Capital City resident and war veteran, died Sunday at a sanitarium near Denver after months of illness from tuberculosis. Born on a farm south of Jefferson City, he lived most of his life in the region, moved to St. Louis before World War I, and later to Colorado seeking health. He is survived by two brothers in St. Louis. Funeral services were held and burial occurred in Denver.
