Draft Bill May Not Be Signed For Two Weeks
Washington June 22 AP The draft bill passed by Congress may not reach the White House for about two weeks as Presidents Vandenberg and Martin have not signed it yet and will not act until arriving in Philadelphia for the Republican convention. The measure must go to them there before delivery to Truman, likely delaying a signature until July 5 and allowing draft- age men to seek National Guard or reserve service to avoid call. Charles G Ross said the draft bill is among each chamber’s and is pending the Vandenberg Martin signature. Rumors had suggested Truman might delay signing to let Guard quotas fill.

Eldon Missouri reports the Daily Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church ended Friday evening after a two week run with 140 students enrolled and 36.21 dollars in mission offerings.
