Jefferson City girl among weekend Missouri highway deaths

A Jefferson City girl Deb or ah K Perry 18 of 2300 Orchard Lane died Sunday when her car driven by Cynthia Ann Coffin 19 ran off a curve on Cole County Route B overturned and hit a fence Coffin was listed in satisfactory condition at St Marys Health Center Patrick McKinney ? killed in a motorcycle crash on Missouri 89 in Osage County near Route E two Kansas City brothers Frederic N Panuco 17 and Mark Panuco 21 died in a high speed one car crash on Interstate 435 near the south edge of Kansas City Other victims include Kevin McGinnis Eva Smith and Scott D Stewart in separate accidents across St Louis and Cass County

Eight injured in weekend city traffic crashes

Eight persons were injured in two separate weekend traffic accidents in the city. Three people were hospitalized after a three car crash on the Expressway with Jeffery A. Graf 23, Debra Menke 19, and Linda Hard 25 listed as patients. The Graf car crossed the median and hit the Hord car head on. Five youths were hurt when a pickup struck a parked car on West Main Street, including Jeffrey Bishop 16 and passengers Joyce Storey 18 Cindy Gobble 14 Stacy Hodge 14. All treated and released from local hospitals.

Local man elected to VFEW post

John Wehmeyer of Holts Summit was elected senior vice commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars at the auxiliary state convention. He has 12 years with VFW Post No. 1003 and has served in several state roles. Other local figures named to state posts include Eugene Fee and Mrs Alma Glesius and Mrs Emogene Moyer. The convention drew 4 500 delegates and adopted anti and pro veteran resolutions. A separate court case saw Lewis White fined 25 dollars and jailed two days for meat theft at Schulte's IGA Foodliner, with items valued at 4.98.
