Condemnation filings target land along US 54 in Cole County
The State Highway Commission filed condemnation papers against nine Cole County landowners in circuit court to obtain land for a seven mile stretch of US 54 from Route E at Bravite to near the Miller County line. At least three people were killed in northern Missouri traffic accidents. Larry Hall 21 of Des Moines Iowa died when his car failed to negotiate a curve near Chillicothe.
