Death of Edward Cottrell longtime Jefferson City post office clerk

Edward M. Cottrell 77 died at his home 111 Forest Hill Friday after a heart attack. A former Wisconsin native who moved to Jefferson City in 1903, he married Emma Day in 1905 and served 43 years at the local post office retiring in 1952. He was a Methodist and survived by his wife, one daughter, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The body lay in a local funeral home from 3 p.m. today with services at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the home chapel. Reverend D Russell Lytle officiated. burial in River View Cemetery.
