A free polio clinic in Russellville was moved from June 26 to June 24, 9:30 a.m. to noon at Russellville High School. For children under 21 and expectant mothers, first second and third shots will be offered with timing rules: second shot two to four weeks after the first, third no sooner than three months after the second, and a booster six months or more after the third. The event is the final scheduled clinic, according to health nurse Hetty Joach.

Mrs William Brizendine 77 died at her home in Bunceton after a long illness. Survivors include her husband three sons and a daughter. She was mother of Glenn Friday of Mexico Missouri, a former Bunceton resident. Vacation Bible School began Monday at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church with Rev Ivan Cameron as principal assisted by Mrs Truman Simmers, Mrs Glen Long and Mrs Olan Zey.

Officers reelected as 102 Cain family members gathered at Jefferson City's McClung Park for the annual reunion. Notables include Nellie Cain Nichols treasurer and Rhoda Cain secretary with five generations represented. Out of state guests were from Texas Illinois and Missouri. An Eastern Star barbecue is planned at the Masonic Hall Saturday evening.
