Wrecks in Capital City Continue in Wrecks Sequence
Automobile accidents of a serious nature continued in Gay City last night with several people slightly injured. E Stiefman and Edward Hayworth were involved in a severe rear end crash at Jefferson and McCarty. Stiefman’s Chevrolet was struck by Hayworth’s Pontiac as Hayworth sped through a stop and could not see the intersection. Hayworth admitted traveling at a good rate of speed. Stiefman and passenger were bruised but not seriously hurt. Hayworth is slated to appear in police court this morning. A separate collision at Dunklin and Chestnut between a Richard Axel and Louis Gilmore damaged their cars as both drivers failed to yield. Officer Schatzer did not fix responsibility for the latter wreck. Police note unusually heavy traffic from warm weather, with several minor accidents reported. Motorists are urged to observe traffic regulations closely during this period.
