Elliott Dies at Home John Perry of Neaths
John Perry Elliott, a telephone switchboard repairman for 57 years, died at his home on Old St. Louis Road. Born April 7, 1879 in New Albany Indiana, he worked for Capital City Telephone since 1930 and had been a Mason and Royal Arch member in multiple chapters. He survived by his wife Shellie, three sons Walter L Lexingon KY John R and Paul R, two brothers Delaney and Carl, a sister Mrs Pearl Geistdoerfer, eight grandchildren and one great grandchild. a daughter preceded him in death.

Claysville Woman Dies After Stroke at 74
Mrs Minnie Ann Hardin, 74, died at her home in Claysville after suffering a stroke about a week earlier. She had been ill for seven months. Born near Tebbetts October 28, 1875, she was the daughter of John and Carolyn Wilkening. She married John Hardin on April 20, 1897, who survives. Survivors include two sons Charles of Jefferson City and Floyd of Hartsburg, three daughters Jessie Wishard of Butler Georgia Hutinger of Cedar City Bertha Clardy of Jefferson City, two brothers John Wilkening of Hartsburg Willie Wilkening of Koshkonong Martin Wilkening of Milton Ore, two sisters Beulah Birdsong and Sylvia Willey of Milton Ore, 12 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

The Post-Dispatch reports CIO unions contributed at least $10,000 to Gov. Forrest Smith's 1948 primary and general election campaigns. Funds went to the Democratic state committee via assistant-treasurer B E Ragland. Davis says unions also gave about $16,000 to campaign efforts in St. Louis, Kansas City, and for legislature candidates. Rimann reportedly donated $3,500 as a result of an urgent plea from Hendren before the primary. Ragland denies comment. Molasky and Hendren tied to additional contributions.
