New York June 15 The Journal of Social Hygiene reports that legalized prostitution is resurging in many U S towns, especially smaller ones. In 213 communities across 42 states and Alaska over half were unsatisfactory, with larger cities generally better policed while smaller towns near military bases showed the worst conditions.

Move to Require Unions to Bargain
WASHINGTON June 15 AP The Senate added a Taft Hartley law feature to the Truman administration labor bill by voting to require unions to bar gain with employers. The amendment would make it an unfair labor practice for either side to refuse to bargain in good faith, extending the bill’s reach beyond employer bargaining obligations.
