Fire damages Madison Street home. clothing destroyed

Fire damaged a residence at 18011 Madison St late Tuesday afternoon. One bedroom in the Howard Harsh home was gutted while damage was limited to smoke and furnishings. Highway Crash Leads to Arrest in Jefferson City

Melvin Eugene McGraw, 31, of 1106 Myrtle Ave., was arrested after a minor crash on Highway 50 West inside Jefferson City. He faces careless and reckless driving charges after refusing to sign a traffic summons. Police say McGraw tried to pass Edgar Anton Kosinger, 19, of Lohman, then veered into oncoming traffic and struck Kosinger’s left rear fender. No injuries were reported. The incident occurred about 7:45 p.m.
