Two Escapees From Arkansas Hospital Caught

SPRINGHILL La June 12 Two brothers William Albert Anderson 33 and Charles Edwin Anderson 25 were captured after two weeks of freedom from the Arkansas State Hospital. They were wanted for a $10,000 daylight bank robbery at Joiner Ark on August 4 1955 and burglary charges in Pea Ridge Crawfordsville and other locations. William was later arrested near Caruth Missouri with about 3600 in loot. Charles had prior arrests and claimed a false identity. Both will be returned to Arkansas for further action.

Russellville Youth Enlists in Air Force

Russellville youth August Martin enlisted in the Air Force for four years. He is the son of Mr and Mrs James Hale Martin of Russellville and has gone to Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio Texas for basic training.

Report on births and local court fines in Freeburg area

Vincent Brune and others listed for births at St Marys Hospital, with several residents named from Jamestown Crocker and Hermann. Magistrate Court Henry Louis Walters of Rt 3 fined $25 plus costs for careless and reckless driving, and Carl Willard Morrett of 611 W Dunklin St received the same fine and costs.

Freeburg Youth Enlists in Navy

Freeburg youth Richard Owens joined the Navy last week and was sent to San Diego for basic training. Local families, including Mr and Mrs Harvey Owens and Mr and Mrs Ben Berhorst, spent the weekend visiting relatives in St Louis and attending a Parents and Nurses Association meeting and barbecue at DePaul Hospital School of Nursing. Patricia Berhorst of St Louis is visiting her parents, and Mr and Mrs Bernard Hertzing announced the birth of a son with paternal grandparents Conrad Hertzing of Freeburg named in the report.

HARTSBURG June 12 Special Children and teachers from the Vacation Bible School of the Evangelical and Reformed Church held morning services and a church grounds picnic after classes ended Friday. Lois Winnecke, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Edwin Winnecke, had a tonsillectomy at St. Marys Hospital in Jefferson City. Navy aviation opens for high school grads with limited preflight program. Vernon Brinkman of Hermann among the enlistees chosen for this training track.
