Ozark Square Dance Team from Miller County will appear on Ted Mack's Amateur Hour at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City Saturday evening. Dancers include Lee Mace Carl Williams Dillard Stamper from Little Creek Nellie Abbott Helen Hopkins Eldon Tuscumbia callers and local musicians contributed. Event judged by audience votes, with a later show decision.

Playground Opens Monday in City

The Lions Club Park Board summer playground program starts Monday at eight Jefferson City sites for youths up to 16. Registration is open during the week. Death of Mrs. Gertrude Sweeney in Sedalia at 70

Mrs. Gertrude Elizabeth Sweeney, 70, died at a Sedalia hospital after a two month illness. A Jefferson City native born June 8 1883, she moved to Sedalia to live with daughter Mrs Roy Kline. Survived by two sons, daughter, brother and six grandchildren. funeral Monday at St Peter's Church with burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Rev Msgr J A Vogelweid officiating.

Death of Mrs A M Rockelmann in Kansas City

Mrs A M Rockelmann 70 of Jefferson City died yesterday afternoon at Lindemann Nursing Home in Kansas City after a snake bite incident during a 1952 visit to her daughter. Born Julia Frieda Eggers June 8 1882 in Scruggs Station Cole County she married A M Rockelmann May 20 1902. Survived by three daughters, a son Ralph A Rockelmann, a sister, and six grandchildren. Funeral Monday 7p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Rev W J Wottenburg. burial Riverview Cemetery.

Death of JoE Gilpin 50 in St Louis

Ashland news reports John Edward Gilpin died last night in St Louis after a year long illness. Born April 4 1903 in Nashville community he was married to Josephine Sleberneck of Jefferson City. Survived by one sister Mrs Paul Martin Columbia and brothers Winfrey Richland Wash and Raymond Ashland. Body to be returned to Ashland for burial with funeral plans incomplete.

Hold Funeral Services For George Nichols

Funeral services for George Nichols, a retired farmer, were held yesterday at 1 Church near Ashland. Elder Linyd Sapp led the service, with burial in the church cemetery. Nichols, who died June 11 at Boone County Hospital Cohim Jpia, had lived in Ashland for years. Born February 20, 1875 east of Ashland, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Nichols. He was married to Ollie Thomas, who died years ago, and he is survived by two brothers, Arthur and Walter Nichols, of Ashland.

James Rogers Found Dead at Ashland Home

Ashland resident James Rogers about 80 was found dead at his home today by neighbor Mrs Leonard Nich. Funeral services set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Boshen Church near Wilton with Elder Sapp officiating. Burial planned. Survivors include nephew woman Sapp and niece Mrs Cyree Nichols, both of Ashland. Mr Rogers had lived in Wilton community before moving to Ashland.

Quinn ex Postmaster Of Moberly Dies

R. Quinn, 68, former Moberly postmaster and civic leader, died today. He chaired Randolph County Republican Committee, was appointed postmaster in 1922 serving under Harding Coolidge and Hoover, and served on the Northeast Missouri State Teachers College Board of Regents appointed by Gov Stark and reappointed by Govs Donnell and Donnelly.
