Four youths face Circuit Court in Tallahassee on charges they abducted and assaulted a Florida A M girl. Defendants Willion Collinsworth Patrick Scarborough David Beagles and Oliie Stoutamire are held without bond. trial set amid ongoing segregation debate and court security.
A two car collision on Illinois Route 3, three miles north of Chester, killed Maj. John Garrett, his wife Blanch E., and Gerald J. Ramsey of Minneapolis. Maj Garrett died at Chester Hospital. The curve where the crash occurred was reported as the site of the fatalities.
