Former Agriculture Department aide James T. Ralph testified that Billie Sol Estes sent two hundred dollar money orders to him and two to aide William Morris to buy Democratic dinner tickets. Ralph said orders were for the Kennedy inauguration anniversary fund raiser and that he forwarded payments to Democratic committees. Morris later talked with Estes about the money orders, and Ralph noted he had informed Secretary Freeman via memorandum which Freeman’s office denied receiving.

Cities Counties To Receive First Share Of Gas Tax
Missouri city and county governments will receive their first share under the gas tax sharing amendment. Gov. Dalton and M. E. Morris announced first allocations totaling 957, 000 for cities and 319, 580 for counties with Jefferson City and St. Louis among major recipients. The tax sharing takes effect April 1 and distributions are to be drawn from the state highway fund after approval of road plans.
