Nation to Get Nerve Building Wartime Diet
Chicago June 2 AP Within a few weeks the nation is expected to be almost 100 percent on a wartime body and nerve building diet of enriched vitamin packed flour and bakery foods. Milling trade authorities said the enriched flour program started January 1941 as wartime health drive and had become a complete victory. Many mills now produce enriched flour for the family trade and it will be difficult for consumers to buy non enriched flour. Flour consumption was rising due to wartime conditions and would be the largest in years. No bread rationing or substitutes would be necessary as domestic wheat supplies were abundant, equal to two years normal requirements. Government health authorities.
