Singer Marjorie Marek Dies In I 29 Van Jump
Leavenworth singer Marjorie L. Marek 29 formerly Miss Leavenworth and co owner of a music school with her husband Louis W. Marek 31 was killed when she jumped from a van on Interstate 29 in St Joseph at 1 40 a m The van carried a musical instruments trailer for the Marek trio and was moving about 40 or 45 mph She suffered fatal head injuries upon striking a steel guard rail and the road and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Buchanan County coroner.

Hermitage Driver Dies After Polk County Crash
Robert England 26 of Hermitage Missouri died at Cox Medical Center after his car ran off Polk County Route D on a county road north of Springfield between Bolivar and Hermitage. The Missouri Highway Patrol reported the wreck occurred Tuesday and left England injured.

Posthumous Diploma Awarded to Beloved Bellevue Father
Mau rice Saucedo, a 41 year old Air Force veteran and dedicated student, died last December before completing 128 credits for Bellevue College. His widow Arlene and their sons Keith and Kent will receive his bachelor of arts degree in communications posthumously on Saturday, honoring his 20 years of earning credits through evening courses and his determination to finish.

Grocery prices fall in Missouri dairy and meat items
Missouri Farm Bureau reports across state stores saw sharp price drops on beef pork and milk. Ground beef fell to 78 cents per lb T bone to 2.20 pork center cuts to 1.71 and 1.12 for blade roast milk to 1.43 a gallon and 1.35 for low fat eggs dropped to 60 cents for large and 64 cents for extra large per dozen. Red potatoes rose to 1.46 for a 10 lb bag. Sugar 10 lb bag fell to 3.145.

Prison inmate dies after heart attack at Farm
Lester Vogt 34, a Church Farm inmate, died Monday afternoon about an hour after suffering chest pains while on a daily detail. He was taken to the main prison hospital and died at 2:50 p.m. Autopsy by Dr. Lawrence E. Giffen. Vogt arrived March 7 to serve concurrent four year sentences for second degree burglary and stealing in Greene County.
