Four Teams Set To Play in Junior Loop Softball Here
Four teams have been organized to play in the junior league softball season here. Harold Remley, director of play grounds, announced last night that efforts are under way to open the 1942 season next Monday with an eight club circuit. The Jefferson City Lions Club athletic committee sponsors the league for a fifth straight year in cooperation with the WPA recreational division. Boys 15 and under may enter, with I. W. Van Laningham the league director handling entries at City Park from 8 to 11 a.m. today through Friday. Entry deadline is 9 p.m. Friday. Games will be at City Park from 8 to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday, with one game early, then two games per day later. Teams already formed are the Wildcats, Little Pirates, Lutherans, and Columbian Squires.
