Pancho Villa Dies After Anesthetic in Coast Hospital
Pancho Villa the world flyweight champion and first Filipino to hold a pugilistic title died at St Marys hospital in San Francisco after an anesthetic for throat surgery. His real name Francesco Gilledo, he suffered a swollen throat from jaw infection and died before the operation. He lost to Jimmy McLarnin on July 4 after dentistry removal of a wisdom tooth. Villa's body to be sent to Manila for burial.
